A range of supporting components and add-ons that extend the capabilities of the PT thermal manikin for individual testing requirements.
Alongside the major systems, we offer a selection of smaller accessories that adapt the manikin to specific test setups allowing the manikin to be tailored to a particular application or laboratory environment.
If you have a specific testing need that isn’t covered by the standard accessories, the modular nature of the PT system means custom solutions can often be developed.
Available accessories include
Ambient sensors
Temperature, humidity and air velocity sensors can be connected to all manikin systems to get detailed information about the environment around the manikin. The sensors are connected to the manikin SW and all data is stored.
JOS-3 model
Open-source JOS-3 thermophysiological model is coupled with both thermal and sweating manikin allowing to control the manikin by this model. This allows the users to simulate response form different age groups, BMI indexes or activity level even when physical manikin is still the same.
Transportation boxes
Protective cases for safe transport and storage of the manikin and components
Standing racks
Support frames for mounting and positioning the manikin during setup and testing
Comfort sensor
The comfort sensor provides a cost-effective and flexible assessment of operative/equivalent temperatures and thermal comfort in cars, buildings etc. The sensor can be used on a stand-alone basis, in systems with more sensor heads or in connection with a PT Teknik thermal manikin. It can also replace old Innova or Lumasense transducers.
Coughing system
Special head system for simulating a cough and dispensing liquid aerosols in a simplified way.
- Mechanical adjustment of the coughing profile, volume (0 – 6 l) and flow-rate (0 – 12 l/s)
- Mechanical adjustment of liquid particle mix
- Heating of the coughed air
